My Craft Spot Stamp Release Blog Hop

Saturday, March 31, 2012
Check out the post below if you are looking for the Carson's Creations Embossing Blog Hop - but be sure to come right back here for the My Craft Spot Stamp Release Blog Hop!!

It's here!!  The My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party Blog Hop!  All week, the My Craft Spot design team has been showcasing projects made with the new stamps - and today you can see them ALL at the My Craft Spot blog!!  Plus, ALL sets are available for purchase and ready to ship today!  How exciting!  EACH design team member will have a stamp set to give away as well, so be sure to visit and leave comments at each blog along the way.  If you haven't been yet, start at My Craft Spot - the first stop on the hop!

I used a stamp from the Happy Easter set to make my card.  I went over the sentiment with my Stardust Gel Pen and also highlighted the edges of the sentiment mat with the same pen.  It looks so nice in real life, but I just couldn't get a photo to show the glistening.  The flowers and leaves were all cut with Flower Shoppe, each one inked.  I also dusted the edges of the large flower with some chunky glitter and spritzed the flowers with Glimmer Mist.  Everything is layered on a doily positioned on a floral embossed mat.  I finished things off with a pearl in the centre of my main flower, a couple of pearl sprigs and some Golden Harvest crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot.

As I mentioned above, EACH design team member will be giving away one of the NEW My Craft Spot stamp sets.  Kimberly has most generously donated Happily Ever After for me to give away!  This set is perfect for all your wedding creations- and then some!  (Click HERE to see projects made with the Happily Ever After set.)  For your chance to win, please follow my blog and leave a comment on this post.  I will announce the winner on Tuesday, April 3.  (And don't forget that I am giving away ANOTHER My Craft Spot stamp set on the Embossing Blog Hop post below.)

Your next stop along the hop is a visit to the wonderfully talented Ally at Rock Paper Cricut.  Happy hopping!!

Here is the complete blog hop line up:

Carson's Creations Embossing Blog Hop

I'm so delighted that Georgiana (Carson's Creations) invited me to join her embossing blog hop.  Embossing is my favourite technique to add to my paper creations - so I jumped at the chance to be involved!  At each stop along the way, designers will be showcasing their projects and sharing embossing techniques - both heat and dry.  There will also be prizes up for grabs along the way!

I made my card for my son's friend who LOVES wolves.  I used My Community for the wolf and Celebrations for the hat and balloons, which were stamped with Peachy Keen faces.

For the main mat, I used a Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder.  I added a few gems to the little embossed flowers.  Adding gems, stickles, brads, etc., can be a great way to dress up your embossing.

I used D'Vine Swirls for the wolf's fur.  This folder is a great one to use with your animal cuts.  I used the same folder on my little Easter lamb card earlier this week.

The sentiment is from My Craft Spot and I used Stampin' Up punches for the little frames.  I did some inking and stitching and my card was ready for my son's wolf-loving friend!

My Craft Spot

If there's anything I really like about blog hops, it's prizes!  Here at Small Bits of Paper, I'm giving away your choice of one of the NEW My Craft Spot stamp sets!!  Just leave your name and contact information in a comment on this post.  I will announce the winner on Tuesday, April 3.  (I'm also taking part in the My Craft Spot Stamp Release Blog Hop today - beginning at 8am EST.  Be sure to check out that post for your chance to win a Happily Ever After stamp set, courtesy of Kimberly at My Craft Spot.)

Georgiana (Carson's Creations) is also offering prizes - for participating in the blog hop AND for creating a project trying an embossing technique!  You can view the guidelines and link up your project at Carson's Creations.

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day Five

Friday, March 30, 2012
Welcome to Day Five of the My Craft Spot stamp release party!

Today's stamp set is Butterfly Kisses!
(All of the new stamp sets will be available to order and ship tomorrow!!)

I had originally designed a completely different card for today, but when the new Paper Dolls Teen Scene cartridge came out, I decided to try it out instead.

The young girl and her umbrella are cut from Teen Scene.  I popped them on an oval mat cut with the Creative Memories cutting system.

I also embossed the mat with an ellipse embossing folder - perfect for little raindrops!  (The folder does not have a name/logo on it and I am afraid I don't know where it's from.)  I dressed up the teen girl with a few pearls and a little flower for her umbrella too.

I added Glossy Accents to the little boots and also added some flowers around the frame.  These flowers were created with punches and little pearls were added to each one.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch to create a border for the bottom of my card and then stamped a sentiment from the new My Craft Spot Butterfly Kisses stamp set.  The card was finished off with some faux stitching around the outside of the mat.

If you haven't been there already today, please head over to My Craft Spot to see the rest of the Butterfly Kisses projects created by Kimberly and the rest of the design team.  Plus, you can leave a comment at My Craft Spot for your chance to win today's prize - some Divine 4th of July & Spring Bakers Twine!

Don't forget that tomorrow is the My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party Blog Hop.  You'll be able to see the stamp sets in their entirety - AND have a chance to win one of these new sets at EACH blog along the way!  Everything will be available to order, too!

I'm also participating in Carson's Creations Embossing Blog Hop tomorrow - with another prize to give away!

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day Four

Thursday, March 29, 2012
It's Day Four of the My Craft Spot stamp release party!

Today's stamp set is Tiny Tags!
(All of the new stamp sets will be available to order and ship on Saturday!!)

For today's project, I decided to make some gift card holders.  The holders were cut using a My Creative Time die.  I used the NEW Tiny Tags stamps from My Craft Spot along the top of the gift card holders and to make the sweet little tiny tags.  This new stamp set has a tag outline AND two choices of faux stitching for inside the tags - PLUS all sorts of tiny sentiments from which you can choose!  I just love the versatility of this set!

The yummy slices of watermelon are from Doodlecharms.  I did lots of inking, a bit of doodling and some faux stitching of my own.  (Remember, the faux stitching on the tags is one of the NEW Tiny Tags stamps!!)

I finished things off with some eyelets and Vintage Cherry baker's twine from My Craft Spot.

Please head over to My Craft Spot to see the rest of the Tiny Tags projects.  You'll get to see lots of these fun little sentiments and sweet Tiny Tags!  Plus, you can leave a comment at My Craft Spot for your chance to win today's prize - some gorgeous crinkle ribbon!

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day Three

Wednesday, March 28, 2012
We're halfway through this week's Stamp Release Party at My Craft Spot - and we're having so much fun!

Today's stamp set is Happily Ever After!
(All of the new stamp sets will be available to order and ship on Saturday!!)

I used Stretch Your Imagination for the image of the bride and groom.  It's been ages since I've used this cartridge and I'm so glad I pulled it out!  I love the look of the silhouette couple.  I popped them on a lovely flourished frame from Ashlyn's Alphabet - another cartridge that hasn't seen much light recently!  The white oval mat behind the silhouette couple was embossed with my tiny hearts Cuttlebug folder.

I added some elegant black diamond crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot and a large gem to my card.  The sentiment from the new Happily Ever After set is just the perfect way to finish off my wedding card.

You'll be delighted with the rest of the design team sneak peeks at My Craft Spot.  Be sure to head over to My Craft Spot to check them out - and to comment there for your chance to win today's prize - a Friends and Neighbors stamp set!

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day Two

Tuesday, March 27, 2012
It's Day Two of the Stamp Release Party at My Craft Spot.  Weren't yesterday's projects from the Happy Easter set fabulous?!  Be sure to check them out if you missed them.

Today's stamp set is Birthday Wishes!
(All of the new stamp sets will be available to order and ship on Saturday!)

I used Paper Pups for my happy little dog and his hat is from Doodlecharms.

I used a Peachy Keen stamp for the dog's eyes and gave him some rosy cheeks and a few freckles.  His nose is covered with Glossy Accents for a fun shine!  I also added some faux stitching around the mat cut from Elegant Edges and around the party hat. The sentiment is from the NEW My Craft Spot Birthday Wishes set.

I used a Fiskars Punch inside the card - and decorated it with an extra party hat from Doodlecharms.  The inside of the card is stamped with another Birthday Wishes stamp from My Craft Spot.

Be sure to head over to My Craft Spot to check out the rest of the sneak peeks - plus to enter for your chance to win today's prize, a fun set of Bitty Bags!  And don't forget to come back tomorrow for Day Three of the My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party!

Welcome to the first day of the My Craft Spot Spring stamp release party!  We've got lots of WONDERFUL things in store for you this week, starting with some sneak peeks of one of the FABULOUS new stamp sets.  All week, we'll be showcasing projects using the new stamps.  Each day, there will be prizes at My Craft Spot and we'll end with a bang on Saturday.  Each design team member will be taking part in the My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party Blog Hop - with prizes at EACH blog along the way!

Today's stamp set is Happy Easter!
This stamp set is available to order and ship today since Easter is almost here!!
You will be able to purchase all of the stamp sets together on Saturday and Kimberly  will still give you the discount for buying all 5 even if you purchase the Happy Easter set earlier.  She just wanted to be able to ship the Happy Easter sets out to everyone as soon as possible.

I created this sweet card using one of the new Happy Easter stamps from My Craft Spot.  I used Easter 2010 for the base of my card, the little eggs and the lamb. I embossed the lamb using my Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls folder.  The fun bunny ears are from Paper Doll Dress Up.

I did some doodling, inking and some popping, added some eyes with a Peachy Keen stamp and used some Glossy Accents on the little nose and feet. I finished everything off with some Cotton Candy Divine baker's twine from My Craft Spot

There are more projects to see on the My Craft Spot blog - with more sneak peeks of the new Happy Easter stamps.  Head over there to have a look!  (Today's set is one of my favourites.  I LOVE it!!)  Don't forget to leave a comment for Kimberly for your chance to win today's prize - some wonderful baker's twine!  And remember, you can order the new Happy Easter stamp set today already!!

Every Day is a Gift Card

Monday, March 12, 2012
Click HERE to see this week's Fantabulous Cricut project.

It's time for "Manly Man" projects at My Craft Spot this week.

I decided to make a card using the antique car from Wrap it Up, and cut it from a variety of metallic cardstocks.  The car is popped for some added dimension.  The frame under the car is from Elegant Edges and I embossed the top layer with the Clockworks Cuttlebug folder.  I also used my crimper on the bottom mat.  I did lots of inking and added some brads on the wheels.

I finished things off with a wonderful sentiment from My Craft Spot's Happy Fall set.

If you've got a "man" project you need to make, now's the perfect opportunity to get to work!  You can enter it in this week's My Craft Spot challenge and be eligible to win a fantastic prize while you're at it!

My Heart Belongs to You - Lion Card

This week's theme at Fantabulous Cricut is "In like a lion".  We're challenging you to use any sort of cat on your project (i.e., a lion, tiger, feline domesticus, etc.).

I chose to use a lion and used Zooballoo to make my shape card.  Even the grass is from Zooballoo - although I did add an extra layer of grass underneath which was hand cut using my Martha Stewart "grass" scissors.  The lion's mane was run through the Cuttlebug using D'Vine Swirls.  I did some inking and doodling, added Glossy Accents to the nose and attached some googly eyes.  I also punched a little heart for my lion.

Inside, I stamped a sentiment from My Craft Spot's Always and Forever set.  The little heart next to my signature is from the same set and was strategically placed to cover a little ink mishap I had!  I decided to sign my card so that the heart didn't look out of place but will write more in the card later.  I will give this to my husband on Thursday - to celebrate 23 years since the day we first met.  I'm so thankful that our paths crossed back on March 15, 1989!!

Please head over to Fantabulous Cricut to see what the rest of the design team has created.  There's a lot of new talent this term and there are some great projects to see this week!  Don't forget to link up your own "In like a lion" craft too!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I'd also like to take a moment to offer a HUGE thanks to Sherrie of Sherrie Scraps with Passion, Jayne of Jayne Designs and Kristan of BabyCakes who presented me with the Green Blend Award.  (This award is for any co-blogging friend who has helped your blog in any and all ways, who has cheered you along in your blog building, craft advancing career and/or who always stops by and is kind to you.  You can count on them to always leave one of the great comments at the end of your posts.)
The award requirements stipulate that I am to pass this along to 3-5 other bloggers, but as those of you who are long-time followers know, this is an impossible task for me.  For example, when I was teaching years ago, I volunteered as the junior mixed soccer coach.  When it came time to make cuts, I just couldn't do it.  My principal told me that 20 players was far too many for a team.  I smiled and told him that I was obviously the wrong person for the job.  He got me a bus for 20 in order to attend the tournament. :)  All that said, I simply cannot choose between the many, many blogging friends that I've got - especially when you are so faithful with your comments to me during these ridiculously busy days of mine in which my commenting is not what I'd like it to be.  For these reasons, with a grateful heart, I pass this award to anybody who considers me a friend.
