You're Monsterrific!

Monday, January 27, 2014

It's time for another challenge over at My Craft Spot. This week, we're challenging you to use polka-dots on your project!

Last Sunday, Miss Kate Cuttables had an adorable monster file as their freebie of the day.  I was smitten and just could not refuse trying him out!  Instead of using the hearts that were part of the cut file, I opted to use some My Craft Spot metal dies - both the Hearts Border set and Small Alphabet set.  The circle (big polkadot!) under the hearts on the mat was cut using the Tiny Doilies metal die set.  I embossed my white mat with QuicKutz Polkadot embossing folder and layered that on some polkadot patterned paper from My Mind's Eye.

I stamped my sentiment on a banner cut with My Craft Spot's Ribbon Banners - Wavy metal die set.  The sentiment itself is from Happy Haunting!!  Yes, a Halloween sentiment but it works just perfectly on my monster Valentine!  Between the words, I also added a little heart stamp from the Always & Forever stamp set.  I finished things off with some Caribbean sequins - the prettiest way to add polkadots to a project!!

Please head over to My Craft Spot to see what the rest of the design team has created this week.  Then, link up your own creation for a chance to win this week's prize!

May Your Day Be Filled With Happiness

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

It's my day to share a project over at My Craft Spot and I'm posting it here too!  Last week, I was delighted to find a gorgeous free multipurpose cut file created by Pam at Get Silvered.  The timing was perfect as I needed a few thank you cards to add to my stash.  That said, I ended up using a multipurpose sentiment so my cards can be used for a variety of purposes!

My cards are all 4.25x4.25.  I kept them this size in order to fit them in standard envelopes for mailing.  After letting Pam's file and my Silhouette do all the work for the pretty background, I used My Craft Spot's Tiny Doilies metal dies for the centres.

The sentiment is from Stamping All Around Spring (the first set) - as is the sweet little floral bouquet stamped in the middle of each.  I finished things off with some fabulous Bittersweet jute string.  I'm so pleased with how quick and easy these cards came together - and with such a pretty look!

Thanks so much for visiting today!  Have a wonderful day!

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Blog Hop!

Saturday, January 11, 2014

Welcome to the My Craft Spot stamp release party blog hop! Today is the day that Kimberly is revealing her FIVE new stamp sets and FOUR new sets of metal dies!!  Products are available for purchase today too.  Woo hoo!!  Be sure to check everything out over at My Craft Spot!

For my project today, I put together a little gift bag of chocolates.  I used a variety of tools to create my topper: my trimmer, my Creative Memories Oval Cutting System and a NEW My Craft Spot Fancy Edges border die.  Be sure to check out this new die set as there are a SIX different border dies!!  I also used the Fancy Edges border die to create the border at the bottom of my bag.

To dress up my topper, I stamped one of the NEW Banner Sentiments on a NEW Ribbon Banners - Wavy metal die cut.  I then used one of the NEW Heart Borders metal dies to cut out the heart from cowboy print paper.  (It's hard to read, but the cowboy's hat reads, "For my sweetie".)  The little heart on the bottom trim of my bag was also cut with one of the NEW Heart Borders metal dies.  I inked everything!

I used coordinating paper to individually wrap each of the mini chocolate bars inside my bag.  I also dressed up the back of the topper too - and added a couple of little hearts cut with the NEW Heart Borders metal dies.  I'm so happy with the way the bag turned out!

I'm so pleased that Kimberly is giving me a Ribbon Banners - Wavy metal die set to give away on my blog!!  For your chance to win, simply leave a comment on this post.  I will announce the winner on Monday.

Now it's time to head over to visit the newest My Craft Spot designer - the incredibly talented Tanya of Nonna's Craft Corner.  Haven't her projects been amazing this week?!  I'll also provide you with the entire blog hop list so you don't miss any chances to join in all the fun!

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day 5

Friday, January 10, 2014

Welcome to our final day of the My Craft Spot stamp release party! All week, we've been sharing projects created using some of the FIVE new stamp sets and FOUR new sets of metal dies.  The full reveal will be made tomorrow and the My Craft Spot shop will be open for business as ALL new products will be available for purchase.  How exciting!

Today, we're sharing our creations made with the NEW Big Sentiments stamp set.  This set is so fun!  As soon as I saw the stamps, I knew I wanted to use the Get Well Fast sentiment and finally decided on a card/tissue box.  The box itself is a free Kerri Bradford file which can be found HERE.  When I stumbled across the box, I thought it was just the sweetest idea for a little extra something to wish someone well - and could work with a sympathy message too.

I stamped my sentiment from the NEW Big Sentiments stamp set onto some white cardstock which I cut with a Tickets metal die.  I created the shadow behind it using my paper cutter and a Stampin' Up Ticket Corner punch.  The sweet little lamb is an SVG Cutting Files freebie which you can find HERE. I hid the contours of the face and used a Peachy Keen stamp instead.  I also used both the NEW Hearts Borders metal dies and Small Alphabet metal dies for the hearts on the front of the lamb.

For the inside of my box, I used a sentiment from the Feel Better Soon stamp set and finished things off with another little heart cut with the Small Alphabet metal dies.

Please head over to My Craft Spot to see the amazing projects created by the rest of the design team.  If you leave a comment there for Kimberly, you'll have a chance to win today's prize - a Feel Better Soon stamp set (just like I used for the inside of my card/tissue box)!

Don't forget to come back tomorrow!  Kimberly will be revealing all the NEW My Craft Spot products.  We'll be celebrating with a blog hop with prizes at EACH stop along the way!

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day 4

Thursday, January 9, 2014

It's Day Four of the My Craft Spot stamp release party! Today, we are sharing projects created with the NEW Stamping Around Spring 2 set!  This set coordinates perfectly with My Craft Spot's Tiny Doilies metal dies.

For my card, I also used the wonderful NEW Hearts Border metal die set along the bottom, cutting the base of my card.  I then used the same die to cut a gorgeous heart border out of some Valentine's Day patterned paper and then "puzzle pieced" the bits together to create a pretty change to a regular card base.

I cut the doily and shadow with the Tiny Doilies metal die set and stamped the white ring with the NEW Stamping Around Spring 2 set.  I tied a bow with some Snow White crinkle ribbon and added a bit of Maraschino baker's twine.  The little dangling key was also cut with the NEW Hearts Border metal die set.  Three little white pearls were used to finish things off.

Please head over to My Craft Spot to see what Kimberly and the rest of the design team have created for today's release party sneak peek!  While you are there, leave a comment for Kimberly for your chance to win today's prize: a Happy Easter stamp set!

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day 3

Wednesday, January 8, 2014

It's Day Three of the My Craft Spot stamp release party!  Today, we are showcasing projects created with the NEW Banner Sentiments stamp set and NEW Ribbon Banners - Wavy metal dies.

Today's card was created with a cute little bee file purchased from Silhouette (#26908).  I had lots of fun discovering some of the features available on my Silhouette and created the fun card base in the process!  Once the card base was created, I stamped the entire front with Peachy Keen's Cloudy Day background stamp and adhered my bee in the appropriate spot.

Everything else on my card was created with NEW My Craft Spot products!!  The fun sentiment is from the NEW Banner Sentiments stamp set and stamped on a NEW Ribbon Banners - Wavy metal die cut.  The fun grass was created using one of the NEW Fancy Edges metal dies and the heart in the top right corner is from the NEW Heart Borders metal dies.  I am simply having too much fun with all the NEW products from this release!!

Please head over to My Craft Spot to see the projects created by the rest of the design team.  While you are there, leave a comment for Kimberly for your chance to win today's prize: some fabulous sequins (Tickled Pink, Lemon Meringue, and Toadally Green).

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day 2

Tuesday, January 7, 2014

Welcome to Day Two of the My Craft Spot stamp release party!  Today, we are sharing projects created with the NEW Jar Full of Spring stamp set. These stamps were designed to coordinate with the Jar Basics metal dies set - but can also be used on their own, as I did for my project.

The Jar Full of Spring stamp set contains a variety of small stamps, including the fun egg shapes I used to create my own patterned paper.  After stamping an 8.5x11 piece of white cardstock with eggs in different colours and sizes, I cut a bracket flap favour box - Silhouette store #37557.  (I received a Silhouette for Christmas so have been having all sorts of fun trying things out!)  The fun scalloped border on the bottom of my box was created with one of the NEW Fancy Edges metal dies from this week's release.

For my tag, I used Ornate Labels metal dies and stamped it with a frame from the Ornate Labels - Christmas stamp set.  The "you're Eggcellent" sentiment is from the NEW Jar Full of Spring set.  The little egg on my label is from the set we'll be showcasing on Thursday.  Shhhh... don't tell!  And that fabulous bow?  It's from the NEW Small Bow metal die set.  I love it!!

Be sure to head over to My Craft Spot to see all the other projects created by the design team.  While you're there, leave a comment for Kimberly for your chance to win today's prize: a Butterfly Kisses stamp set.

Today, we're showcasing projects created with the NEW Chalkboard Sentiments stamp set.  This set is SO fun!  The chalkboard effect is very "in" right now and these stamps just make getting the look so much easier!

For my project, I created a little set of 3x3 gift cards for my son's teachers.   I suppose I just can't help but think of school when I think of chalkboards!!  I stamped the NEW sentiment inside a mat I cut using My Craft Spot's Ornate Labels metal dies.  The inner stamped from is from our last release - Ornate Labels Christmas.  To fill the space above the sentiment, I cut little apples from Doodlecharms.

Do you see the fun notebook edge on the blue mats?  They were created using one of the NEW metal die sets!  You'll be seeing some more fun edges throughout the week.  There's such a fabulous variety!  And to finish off my cards, I added some fun measuring tape sticky tape.  I LOVE that it is in metric!!
