Hippo Birdie

Wednesday, January 25, 2017
It's Mandy's turn to host at Little Red Wagon and she's eager to see your birthday-themed projects. About a year ago, I borrowed Mandy's Hippo Birdie set from Lawn Fawn and loved it so much that I bought a set for myself! However, it hasn't been out of it's package until now. I thought Mandy's challenge would be the perfect opportunity to open things up and put them to good use!

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created - and please join in the fun by linking up your own birthday-themed project!

Hello

Sunday, January 22, 2017
We had quite an icy week here. In fact, my son had two days off school because of all the freezing rain. I still went to work but had a few cancelled appointments. Despite the mild temperatures, I'm ready for spring and obviously had spring on the mind when I created my card for the latest Your Next Stamp challenge (Sketch Challenge #56).

I did some masking on my card base to create the colourful strip behind the fence and I layered the fence so that some of the colour could be seen through the heart detailing.

I finished things off by popping the sweet little girl on the front of my card and stamping a simple "Hello".

#Happymail

When I first saw Reverse Confetti's Mouse Mail stamps, it was love at first sight! Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough off the draw to pick them up when they were first released so had to wait until they came back in stock. Even though I completed the "notify when back in stock" process, I still checked as I was obsessed with getting the sweet little mice and postbox! It seems we were meant to be together as I've finally got the stamps in my craft room!

I made this card for this month's Reverse Confetti challenge (SFYTT #44). And because I had to wait so long to get the stamps, I got to work and made a set of four!!

I masked my card mat to create the strip down the middle and then layered the sentiment, postbox and mouse on top.

Happy Purr-thday

Happy Sunday! It's been awhile since I've posted on a day other than Wednesday (for my Little Red Wagon posts). We had a quiet weekend at home and I took advantage of some time in my craft room. I made cards for THREE different challenges. I was going to schedule posts but I doubt I'll have time in the week (or will forget!) to actually add the links to the challenges so I'll have a few posts this evening.

I created this card for the sketch challenge at My Favorite Things using the Cat-itude stamp and die set. The little fish and flowers on the right are from the same set as the cat. I finished things off with a few sequins from My Craft Spot (no longer in business).

Thanks a Latte

Wednesday, January 18, 2017
Happy icy Wednesday! We've been having a fair bit of freezing rain around here, which is NOT my favourite kind of weather! I did have fun in the parking lot after work yesterday as there were a lot of us scraping our vehicles.

Donna is our hostess at Little Red Wagon this week and she wants to see our thank you themed cards. With my husband's illness, we've had so many acts of kindness demonstrated for us that thank you cards are in high demand! I thought this one was cute so made a set of eight!

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created - and please link up your own thank you themed project while you're there.

A Little "Me" Time

Wednesday, January 11, 2017
Brenda is our lovely hostess at Little Red Wagon this week, and she'd like to see projects inspired by New Year's resolutions.

I used to read a LOT. When I returned to graduate school in 2010, I still read a lot, but most of it was for school and because I had to. I enjoyed my research, but I got to the point that reading wasn't as fun and I slowed down on reading for pleasure. This year, I plan to take time to read books for fun, entertainment, and escape into other worlds! I have bought a number of books so am all set - although I'd be happy to hear of any recommendations from you too!

I used Your Next Stamp's "Me Time" to create my little scene, which includes a comfy chair for reading and a bookshelf with lots of selection!

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see how the rest of the Girlfriends have been inspired by their resolutions and then link up a project of your own! We always love to see what you create!

Sending Hedgehugs

Wednesday, January 4, 2017
Happy 2017! I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday. I'm back to work today. Unfortunately, my husband had a stroke on Christmas Eve so we ended up postponing Christmas for a bit. He's doing much better now and we're hoping that he'll be discharged from the hospital soon.

Jan is our hostess at Little Red Wagon this week and she wants us to celebrate the NEW! She's pretty easygoing about your interpretation of the word NEW. It could be a project to celebrate something NEW (i.e., new home, new pet), you could try something NEW (i.e., a technique) or you could use something NEW (i.e., Christmas crafting supplies that you're trying for the first time). I received a few new goodies (included in the photo) so put them to use for this project, combining them with some items that I already had.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon and link up your own NEW project. We'd love to see what you create!
