Bicycle Birthday Card

Wednesday, April 26, 2017
Happy Wednesday! This week at Little Red Wagon, Donna is our hostess and she wants us to celebrate the boys in our lives by creating masculine birthday cards. This is the perfect opportunity to create something for one of the men in your life - whether young or old!

I created my card using the Beautiful Ride stamp and die set from Simon Says Stamp. The banner, HAPPY stamp and birthday word die are all products retired from My Craft Spot.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have made and link up your own masculine birthday card too!

I'm also linking up my card to this week's Simon Says Stamp challenge: Anything Goes.

Thanks to those of you who have been thinking of and saying prayers for my husband. He remains in hospital. This weekend was an especially difficult one and he ended up being sedated due to severe pain. However, he's starting to do a bit better and was even able to have a bit to eat yesterday.

Your Next Stamp - April Feature Day

Saturday, April 22, 2017
I'm sad that my month of guest designing for Your Next Stamp is coming to an end. I've had so much fun creating with new release products as well as items I've already purchased in the past. This is my last "official" post but you can bet I'll have more Your Next Stamp projects posted in the future! I'm a huge fan of the stamps and dies and have a wish list for more!

Today is April Feature Day on the Your Next Stamp blog and this month's theme is "Little Ones". The design team has created projects related to anything little - babies, little stamps, little cards, etc. I decided to make a little thank you card set (3.5 x 4.75) using some of my favourite little stamps and dies from Your Next Stamp.

Be sure to head over to Your Next Stamp to see the rest of the "Little Ones" creations. While you're there, leave a comment for your chance to win a stamp set of your choice!

Shoeper Awesome

Friday, April 21, 2017
Have you played along in the latest Your Next Stamp Sketch and Colour Challenge? There's still time to join the fun!

I usually prefer to follow sketches over colour themes for challenges, but when I saw the colour combo, I had an idea that just wouldn't go away! I used the fabulously fun "Shoeper Awesome" stamps and dies from Your Next Stamp to create a set of little thank you notelets. During my husband's stay in hospital, people have been so incredibly kind so I've got lots of thank you notes to send!

I coloured up the shoes and cut them with a coordinating die. The background was made with Mustard Seed Distress Ink and a paintbrush. Once dry, I stamped the stars (also from the Shoeper Awesome stamp set) in the same colour.

Please head over to the Your Next Stamp blog for more details on the current challenge. We'd love to have you play along. You might even win a gift certificate to the YNS store!!

Paws and Enjoy the Moment

Wednesday, April 19, 2017
It's Brenda's turn to host at Little Red Wagon and she's encouraging us to celebrate April Showers. Anything with rainbows, rain boots, rain clouds or even umbrellas is welcome as part of the challenge.

I have had a very busy week as my husband was rushed to hospital on the 10th and will be there for at least another week. I wondered if I would even have a project for today but am doing my best to take time for myself in the midst of all the running around. I'm glad I did! It was peaceful to play with some new goodies which recently arrived from Simon Says Stamp. I've also got some projects lined up for Your Next Stamp and will be working on a couple for CropStop too. It's good to have creative distractions!

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created, and then link up your own April Showers creation!

Easter Lamb

Wednesday, April 12, 2017
This week, Jan is wishing us all a Happy Easter over at Little Red Wagon. She wants to see your Easter projects! If you've got a card, a treat box, home decor, a scrapbook page or anything else you've made for Easter, we'd love for you to link it up in this week's challenge.

I used my new All About Ewe stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti to make my card. I've already made a few projects wit bunnies so decided to create with a sweet little lamb this time.

I designed my card around this month's Confetti Sketch for You to Try and will be linking up there too.

Thinking of You-Calyptus

Tuesday, April 11, 2017
Happy Tuesday! I've been excited to post this card which I made for a wonderful friend of mine who's currently going through a bit of a rough time. She messaged me today to say that it arrived safely, so I'm good to post!

I used the You're Koala-fied stamps and dies from Gerda Steiner Designs to create my card. I just love the fun sentiments on this set!

I'm entering my card in this month's Share Your Designs Challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs.

Happy Birthday to My Beastie

Sunday, April 9, 2017
This weekend has flown by! My husband has been quite ill but was able to get up for a bit today so we're thankful for that. He's to begin another round of chemo soon and we're hoping that will make a huge difference for him.

I did have some time to play this afternoon and created this card for the latest MFT Sketch Challenge #327. I'm also going to enter it in this week's Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday challenge: Happy Birthday. My BFF is having a birthday later this month and we always joke about yeti so I'm sure she'll be happy with her "beastie" card!

Congratulations!

Friday, April 7, 2017
Have you had a chance to play along in the latest sketch and/or colour challenge at Your Next Stamp? There's still a week to play for your chance to win a gift certificate to the YNS store.

I recently attended a baby shower for my son's girlfriend's sister and made this sweet card to pop in the gift bag. I had so much fun putting this together! I started by smooshing some ink on the Cool Tag Four tag and then splattered some more drops of ink. I used the Lots of Dots Edge stamp - twice - on my mat, once with VersaMark and again with Tumbled Glass distress ink.

The sweet little monkey and sentiment are from Stacked with Fun. I popped the tag on my card after adding some crinkle ribbon and jute string to finish it off.

I've linked up my card at this month's CropStop challenge too!

It's time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon. Heather is our hostess this week and she's got an Egg-cellent challenge for us - use eggs on your project. I used an Oval of Flowers stencil to create a pretty "egg" for my Easter card.

You Are My Happy Place

It's time for this month's Design Team Dare at the Your Next Stamp blog. Each member of the design team (including this month's guest designers, like me!) are taking inspiration from a book while featuring new release products.

When my daughter was younger, she LOVED the book Lucky Ladybug by Muff Singer. Lucky Ladybug went around the garden and pointed out how lucky she was to have all her friends. At the end of the book, Lucky's friends told her that THEY were the lucky ones to have a friend as wonderful as Lucky. There was a little squeaky Ladybug that was part of the book too. Anyway, the little troll with the ladybird on his head (from the NEW Insanely Happy stamp set) reminded me of Lucky Ladybug! I also used the Funky Line Panel Die for my background and added a little something extra using the Mini Heart Ink Splatter stamp.

Please head over to the Your Next Stamp Blog to check out the rest of the awesome design team creations - and the inspiration behind them. When at YNS, leave a comment for your chance to win a stamp set of your choice! You have until April 7 to comment. Winner will be announced on the Your Next Stamp blog on April 9.

Claw-ful Without You

Monday, April 3, 2017
I'm up on the Your Next Stamp blog today with an introduction as one of this month's guest designers. I'm so excited to have been invited to spend the month with such a talented group. Plus, I get to play with lots of Your Next Stamp goodies!! Yay!

I put together this clean and simple card using the NEW Scratch Pad stamps and dies. This set is such a fun one! I chose the adorable image of the peeking cats, coloured and cut it and added it to the window in my panel. I stamped a sentiment and have a quick but sharp-looking card!

Your Next Stamp April Release Blog Hop

Saturday, April 1, 2017

Welcome to the Your Next Stamp April Release Blog Hop!! I'm so excited to be taking part with the YNS team this month. There are so many fabulous new products - something (and then some) for everyone!! I am in LOVE with the NEW Aquarium Antics stamps and dies, as well as the fabulous NEW Fish Bowl Shaker die set. I don't typically make many shaker cards, but this die set made it all so easy for me!

The fish, fishfood and sentiment are all from the NEW Aquarium Antics set and I used the Fish Bowl Shaker die set for the Fish Bowl, gravel bottom and seaweed.

I added some of the NEW Enchanted Forest Gumdrops to the top of my fish bowl for a bit of extra fun.

I made some tags with the NEW Cool Tag Four die set. There are four different sizes of the tag and I used the largest and second smallest for my tags. I also used the NEW Aquarium Antics stamps and dies again. This time, the little fish bowl was created with a stamp and die. And the turtle on the smaller tag... I just LOVE him!! The "Hug Time" sentiment is from the NEW Insanely Happy stamp set.

For those of you who can't wait to get shopping, don't forget to enter this month's code for 20% off your entire purchase! You can use the code up until April 6.

Please look below for the blog hop line up. There's a $25 Your Next Stamp gift certificate up for grabs. The more comments you leave before April 4 at midnight, the greater your odds of winning. Your Next Stamp April Release Preview

I'm SO excited to be joining the talented Your Next Stamp team this month as a guest designer! New products are coming out tonight (April 1) and we've got some fabulous sneak peeks for you! Be sure to come back at 10pm EST tonight to take part in the blog hop!

I made two cards for the release preview. For the first card, I used the NEW Insanely Happy stamp set and NEW Flower Blossom Trio die set. There are four different trolls in this set. I'll be sharing another one in a few days. And, if you look closely, you might be able to tell that I used the Checkered Edge stamp from last month's release on the grass.

For my second card, I used the NEW Crazy Shapes panel die for my background. I stamped the cut-outs with the Stripe-tastic Edge stamp and fit them all back in their spots. I then used the Fancy Thanks word die for my sentiment and used the Crazy Shapes panel die for the extra dot at the end of my sentiment.

Please be sure to check out the other sneak peeks by starting at Your Next Stamp. There are lots of AMAZING new stamps, dies, papers and Gumdrops! Then, head back tonight (or even tomorrow) to work your way through the blog hop for your chance to win a Your Next Stamp stamp set!!
